Seasonal Activities

Guests can enjoy Blind Buck Valley Farmstead and the surrounding areas of Upstate New York year round! Check out some of the seasonal activities at our working farm stay below.

In The Spring

Appreciate the bursting new annuals and perennials during the months of April and May. See our plants growing with warmth and fragrance. Hike the property, walk the 3.2 miles in a loop that takes in the hamlet of Salem, featuring Washington County’s first school, the county jail turned into a community center, antique shops, and scenic country roads.

Around the farm you can take a tour, feed and pet our goats, and collect eggs from the chicken coop.

In The Summer

During the day, take a dip in the pool or take a soak in the relaxing hot tub. Evenings are perfect for s’mores and marshmallow roasting by the fire pit.

Walk or bike to the bustling village of Salem to visit local antique and art shops on Main Street or take in a performance at the famed Ft. Salem Theater.

Day trips to Saratoga Springs and Lake George, NY or Manchester, VT offer a variety of culture and fun, including the Six Flags Great Escape, Lake George Factory Outlets, Saratoga Race Track, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Manchester Designer Outlets, and Bromley Mountain. In late August, visit the Washington County Fair in Greenwich, NY, a unique experience that brings together the best of everything, including entertainment, 4-H Displays, food, music, great rides and more animals than anywhere else.

In The Fall

Enjoy the glorious autumn colors across the mountains in the fall. Photography enthusiasts love visiting to feast upon the orange, yellow, and red of the foliage. Mid-September brings local fairs and festivals.

In The Winter

Winter is a magical season on the farm, featuring a wonderland of snow-covered hills and majestic mountains. Spend the day making snowmen and snow angels, snowshoeing, sledding and cross country skiing through the hills and woods, then retire to the house and enjoy dinner by the wood burning stove. In nearby Vermont, hit the slopes of Bromley Mountain or Stratton Mountain Ski Resort.
